Greetings! My name is Copper (or Coppertone) and I'm an Appendix, part Quarter Horse, part Thoroughbred. My human isn't quite sure about my age as originally I was bought from an auction when I was about 9 years old and worked on a school as a lesson horse for 2 years before she bought me. She never knew my background....and I'm not about to tell her! We've been together for over 12 years now.
She says that I'm a good horse but have a quirky personality. I suppose it's because I can look very grumpy, especially if someone comes into my stall while I'm eating. My threatening looks are just a bluff though ... I have to keep up my image and them on their toes. I can be very handsome when I want treats. Then I stand tall and perk my ears up. My owner must think I'm a dog however, as she always asks me if I want a "cookie". Hey, if it tastes good, I'll come for a cookie if that's what she wants.
I may not be the most comfortable ride and usually my owner feels like some of her bones need realigning after an hour on me, but I'm pretty dependable in almost any situation. I must say though I totally dislike sleighs and buggies, not to mention stepping in puddles!
