Hello, my name is Tokabout Million Dollar
Baby, or Arwen for short, and I am a female Afghan Hound. I was born
May 3rd, 2009 near Orangeville, Ontario. My mommy lives with Dee at Tokabout,
and that's where my new human mommy found out about me. You can see
a picture of my daddy on that site. His name is Leo.
Here I am at 6 weeks old, 8 weeks old
and at 12 & 16 weeks old.
July 5, 2009:
Met my new mommy tonight, but I didn't know that yet. I just gave
her a quick hello before I went out to play with my brothers and sister.

July 6, 2009: Today I
had a loooong ride in a car to my new home. My new mom let me sit on
her lap the whole way home & whenever we got out of the car we saw all
kinds of strange things. Even big white and gray birds, which mom
said were sea gulls. They looked like they would have been fun to
chase, but they made a lot of noise, so I just sat and looked at
them. Tonight I explored my new home, and met the other creature
they have here. Mom told me her name is Maia, and it's a cat.
I've put her on my "chase" list for later, but I was too tired
to bother. I slept in a crate in mom's bedroom.
July 7, 2009: I
got up early this morning & mom took me outside and then fed me
breakfast! My favorite part of the day, well except for lunch and
supper that is. I have a pillow to sleep on, but I'm finding the
couch is much more comfortable, so I've claimed a corner of it. This
afternoon mom took me for a car ride again and this time we went to a big
place that had horses, chickens, dogs, cats! I met my two new
brothers, Zar (boy is he big) and Merlin. Zar and I took a little
walk tonight. I had to walk fast to keep up to him.
July 8, 2009:
Lots of walks today and I got to meet my cousin, Bailey. We went for
a walk too, but he was so bouncy I had to growl at him when I first met
him to put him in his place. Zar and I share the couch, and
sometimes Merlin gets on if Zar goes to lie down on the floor. I've
claimed my corner and they let me have it. After my last walk
tonight, I was too tired to do anything, so when mom put me to bed with my
stuffed dog, I just plopped my head on it and went to sleep.

July 10, 2009:
I'm getting really good at following mom around and when she disappears on
me, I make sure I howl GOOD AND LOUD so that she reappears. Training
a human is pretty hard work, so I'm off to have another nap now.
July 11, 2009:
It was nice this morning so I got to play... 
... then it started to rain so I stayed inside and beat up my toys.
Before supper the weather cleared up, so I had some play time with my
cousin Bailey.

July 15, 2009:
Mom got me a nametag the other day, it's a little gold heart with my name
and phone number on it. I guess it's official, she's keeping
me! My new Daddy loves me & is always snuggling with me.
Zar is my walking buddy and Merlin still won't share his toys with me, but
I've learned to steal them when he's not looking. I sleep in my
crate in mom's room every night and I don't cry about it anymore. I
also go to the stable with her and get to see the horses and play with the
dog there, Calypso.
July 17, 2009:
Yesterday afternoon was hot when we went for our walk. We went to
the duck pond and I was looking forward to seeing them, but they weren't
there. I would have jumped in the pond for a cool off, but mom
wouldn't let me. I also got to play with my big brother,
Merlin. He chased me all over the place. What fun! My
bigger brother, Zar, shares his sleeping spot with me .... see...

July 24, 2009: I've been
playing with my cousin Bailey, and keeping myself amused. I
discovered a big toy box in the living room and love taking the toys all
out and chewing on each one. Mom says the place looks like a daycare
... whatever that is. Today we went to the vet and I got my 2nd
needles. They didn't hurt, but I didn't like my nails clipped so I
whined about it loudly just to let everyone know.
July 26, 2009: Mom took me over
to see a lady she knows, Janice. I got to play with two of her baby
poodles. They're like Merlin, only they are black, and are the exact same
age as me. We had fun chasing each other around and digging in the
dirt.
July 27, 2009: Mom and I went
for two walks today without Zar. She said I had to learn to behave
and not pull and bite on my leash. I did pretty good, if I must say
so myself. Zar and Merlin played with me a few times today.
That was fun!
